Frequently (or Recently) Asked Questions
Question: A team is playing a combination schedule, some JV opponents,
some Varsity opponents. Can an incoming senior play on that team?
Answer: The incoming senior can be on the team but can play only in those
games against the Varsity opponents. He cannot participate in the games against
a Junior Varsity opponent.
Question: Can a 4A or 5A team have graduated seniors play on the team?
Answer: Only with approval and written permission from the league. Any 4A
or 5A team with approval of this exception will have a document from the league
president.
Question: Can a team bat more than 9 players in a game?
Answer: Yes, but only in "season" games, not in tournaments. If a team
starts a game batting more than 9, they finish the game batting that same
number. The concept of player development as well as parent pacification is the
basis for this decision. It would be best for coaches to discuss this prior to
the start of the game to assure there is no confusion regarding substitutions or
other circumstances that might occur as a result. If batting more than 9 appears
to be causing a problem, don't do it any more.
